Quebec Smoked Meat, a family business that sold wholesale and takeout meat products for over seven decades, is closing due to staffing shortages, increasing food prices and the difficulty of running a small business. The announcement comes just days after The Main Deli, another institution in Montreal, closed down for similar reasons. The news means there are now fewer in-house smoked meat spots in the city for Montrealers.
