South Carolina General Assembly to go into overtime on abortion, other issues

The annual session of the South Carolina General Assembly is set to go on late into next week, overrunning the planned end date, due to debates on legislative issues including abortion, guns, bond reform and the state budget. Normally, lawmakers would agree on "sine die", which allows them to return to selective issues at a later point, however this year the Senate and House couldn't agree on the resolution. This leaves open the field for the governor to call a special session to resolve issues. The topics likely to be covered are the near-total ban on abortion and bond reform, among others.
