New York has become mired in far-left policies with officials intent on "destroying" its economy, driving out businesses and middle classes, according to The Telegraph. This follows reports the city passed a bill banning weight discrimination, while it has also, over the past 20 years, become one of the most "zealously paternalistic" in the world with burdensome rules on anything from drink sizes to sugar content in food. It also has the highest state tax rate in the US and is suffering from worsening crime, which has contributed to $80bn in lost revenue over the past decade.
