Why Indiana Jones was lured back for one last crack of the whip

Harrison Ford returned for his last outing in the Indiana Jones series, on the condition that the character had an “equal relationship” with a woman and not simply be a rescuing love interest. He put this demand forward as one of several requirements, which The Dial of Destiny script had to meet for Ford, now 80, to reprise the role. In this film, that leading lady is Phoebe Waller-Bridge, the creator of Fleabag and Killing Eve, who plays Jones’s goddaughter. Addressing his character’s age was another stipulation made by Ford before agreeing to join the project.

Eiji Aonuma, the producer of "The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom," has spoken about the difficulties in creating a new Zelda game. He believes that as games have become larger and larger, production has become more time-consuming and tiresome. Aonuma has been working on the franchise since 1998 and is responsible for the game's modern innovations. “Ocarina,” which Aonuma co-directed, revolutionized how game characters move and fight each other in 3D space. “Tears of the Kingdom,” the latest addition to the Zelda family of games, was supposed to be out by last year, but Aonuma said it was delayed so "everything in the game was 100 percent to our standards." The title was released with no issues despite having more complex physics than the most expensive PlayStation 5 title. The game sets players in an all-encompassing electronic fantasy world, where you can build countless gadgets to solve puzzles.

Premier League clubs ‘furious’ over delays to financial cases

The Independent

The Premier League has been urged to set up an independent unit to speed up complex financial cases, according to The Independent. The argument is that such a unit can help avoid regulatory uncertainty and legal battles and can take discretion away from boards, ensuring consistency and independence. Several sources have described the current situation involving Manchester City and Everton, both facing charges under Financial Fair Play rules and Profit and Sustainability regulations respectively, as a mess. Clubs are increasingly urging the Premier League to fast-track their cases to be settled before the end of the season.

Smoke from wildfires has produced hazardous air quality across western Canada, triggered 16 evacuation orders and displaced 10,872 people from their homes (as of Monday). Cooler temperatures failed to improve air pollution levels, while the continued wildfires provoked more evacuations, including in British Columbia. There are 2,709 personnel fighting the fires in Alberta, with backup from 24 US firefighters. The smoke is expected to linger, with air quality particularly poor around High Prairie in the north of the province.

Russian Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev visited Saudi Arabia on Tuesday to hold talks with his counterpart Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud. The visit follows Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's address to an Arab League summit in Saudi Arabia, highlighting the kingdom's and Gulf Arab states' relations with Moscow despite the ongoing Ukraine war. Kolokoltsev has been sanctioned by the US and other countries since 2018 over Russia's activity in Ukraine and Syria. Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has attempted to position the kingdom as a potential mediator between Ukraine and Russia to end the conflict. Since the start of the war, Saudi Arabia has purchased Russian diesel fuel at a discount due to Western sanctions against Russia.
