US memory chip manufacturer Micron Technology has been banned from providing products by China's cyberspace regulator. It said a review revealed "serious network security risks" posed by Micron's products to China's critical information infrastructure supply chain, "affecting China's national security". The decision comes amid a spat over trade in chip technology between the US and China, marked by a series of US export controls on chipmaking technology to China and restrictions on Chinese firms, including Micron rival Yangtze Memory Technologies. Micron derives 10% of its revenue from China. The CAC did not give details of the risks or the products.
